Acceptable Use Policy
  1. The intent of this statement is to provide guidelines for the acceptable use of Western Communications & Satellites (Western Valley Communications-WVCNET.COM) Internet access facilities.
  2. Users must act responsibly in respecting the privacy of others. Intentionally seeking information on, obtaining files, passwords, documents or any other type of data not entitled to the user or public domain is unacceptable.
  3. Users must maintain use that is consistent with common ethical practice and accepted community standards.
  4. Users must respect legal protection provided by the copyright and license agreements for software available on the Internet.
  5. It is not acceptable to use Western Communications & Satellite Internet access facilities for any purposes which violate any applicable laws or regulations, or to transmit any communication where the meaning of the message, or its transmission or distribution would likely be offensive to the recipient(s).
  6. It is not acceptable to use the Internet to interfere or disrupt other network users, services or equipment. This includes but is not limited to the distribution of unsolicited advertisements, transmissions of any type of quantity that causes disruption in services to others or using the Internet to make unauthorized entries into any other computational, informational or communication resources.
  7. Western Communications & Satellites provides unlimited access but not unrestricted access for dial-up service customers. This means that users may use as many hours as they wish, or remain logged on as long as they like, providing they are actively using the internet. Computers which are idle for 15 or more minutes may be logged off automatically.
  8. Western Communications & Satellites is committed to providing quality services. However, it is possible that Western Communications & Satellites could experience technical difficultues that are common with other Internet providers. Please contact us if you notice a consistent problem with either logging on or while online. If you are unsatisfied with Western Communications & Satellites services, you may cancel and receive a full refund if you have not used more than 5 hours of service.
  9. Western Communications & Satellites reserves the right to restrict access to anyone. Western Communications & Satellites will only sell its services to individuals over the age of 18. Western Communications & Satellites recommends that parents or other concerned adults monitor children who are accessing the Internet.
  10. Western Communications & Satellites assumes no responsibility for materials downloaded from the Internet. Western Communications & Satellites will not be liable for any damages to equipment, software, databases or anything else that may become affected by Internet use. Western Communications & Satellites will not be responsible for any material that is downloaded and used offensively. Users must assume full responsibility for any materials uploaded to the Internet.
  11. Re-Selling Western Communications & Satellites Internet access is not permitted without written agreement with the owner.
  12. Freeware is available for IBM compatible computers Windows version 3.1 or higher. Users with other operating environments may need to find their own software.
  13. Advance Payment is required for services. A late fee may be charged for late payments
  14. Use of unattended background applications running on server must by approved by the system administrator.
  15. This system is for the use of authorized account holders only. Individuals using this computer system without authority, or in excess of their authority, may face civil liabilities and legal prosecution. If in the course of normal system event monitoring, individuals found improperly using the system may be subjected to close monitoring which may include access to the content of your directories. Anyone using this system expressly consents to such monitoring and is advised that if such monitoring reveals possible evidence of criminal activity, system personnel may provide the evidence gathered to law enforcement.

We are committed to providing you superior internet access services and will work with you to resolve any problems you may have.  However, if you are unhappy with our service for any reason within the first 30 days of starting with us, we will cheerfully refund all monthly fees paid.   If this is the case, please visit the cancellations page for instructions.

 

Credit Cards Accepted

 

Billing Practices 

We ask for payment for all services in advance and will charge your credit card for your fee.  If you decide to cancel your service after 30 days, and we hope you won't, please visit the cancellations page.  We do NOT issue credits for the unused portion of a prepaid monthly service.  Of course, we will cancel future charges.  

If you choose to pay via monthly invoice (which is delivered to your e-mail account), we apply a surcharge for manual processing.  There is a $10 late fee if not paid within 15 days.  Returned checks are subject to a $25 fee.

If you have prepaid on an annual plan, we WILL refund the unused months remaining on your annual payment.  Note that when calculating the refund, we will use the standard monthly fee for each month used.
